I am a sound designer, musician, self proclaimed audiophile, music recordist, living in Saint Léonard Québec. I graduated from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology with a diploma in Audio Recording Technology and I have been working towards my goal of game audio.
My background started in music, learning to play the guitar, starting a band, deciding I loved all things music and wanted to do it for the rest of my life. However when I attended OIART and discovered a whole slew of options in the field of audio, I discovered I loved them all and began a multi year soul searching mission to figure out what I really loved about audio. Combining my love for story telling and audio I eventually came upon interactive audio and audio for games. As an avid gamer myself, this path seemed like a no brainer. Getting to create sound, music, on games that are telling stories? Sounds like a win-win-win to me.
My goal is a career in interactive audio. Telling stories I think is something everyone loves to a certain degree but telling it with sound, and music is something truly unique and in a way, under appreciated. I've heard that most sound designers say that if you notice their work, they've failed on some level and thinking about how to tell a story using sound and music, I would tend to agree. You should leave with a sense of wonder and amazement, even if you're not really sure why. I aim to create that feeling with sound and music.
That is my goal in life.
